week six 9/29- 10/5

The week of the Indiana Clay Conference!

In the early part of this week I worked many hours, picking up extra shifts and whatnot. I also drove halfway home to meet my dad so he could take Fred back to the ole family home for the weekend since it would have been silly and probably impossible to bring Freddo to the conference. :)

Thursday was the biggest studio day I’ve had in a minute.

My urn sections were finally stiff enough to assemble together. The moment was glorious, the urn assembled, she fit the cardboard profile almost perfectly! I’m so stoked to take the supports away in a few days and begin on the surface decoration details.

I also finished up the cups for Dirtbags. I did the poppy sgraffito that I used for some cups I made last year. I missed sgraffito.

I impulsively decided to start pinching some candlesticks also for Dirtbags, and I accidently love them so much. Excited to keep working on them and I will probably make more and more for my own personal work.

And now for the Conference. In effort to keep this blog post somewhat condensed, I won’t go into much detail or include all the pictures I took.

That said, the conference was really cool! I came away very inspired and itching to work. It was also extremely overwhelming and makes me both scared and excited for what NCECA will bring.

Enjoy this hodge podge of photos!

IUS cuties and Tarra and I slaying at Bananagrams :))

Phoebe Scott is the coolest and me when I decide it would be awesome to make molds of scarab patterns!

*molds that I make from patterns that I carve and create myself!! Everything must be made from my own hands
