week two 1/19-1/25

I fired my test tiles in Dr. Fauci this week, it was my first time firing a manual kiln with a cone sitter and it was easier than expected but ended up not firing off properly so oops i guess. I think it got close enough to cone 6 that my test tiles are true enough and I won’t necessarily need to refire them. I do plan on making more test tiles in the near future and will hopefully redeem myself with Dr. Fauci.

I’m very pleased with how my color mixing tests came out.

This weekend we are having snow-mageddon, so on Friday I ran out to the studio and brought my work and all my tools home so I could continue working over the weekend. You know how time sensitive clay can be, what with drying out and such. If I’d left it all weekend things would have been too dry to make attachments and whatnot and that’s the main thing I had left to do.
